Lane Theatre are now operating theatre/acting workshops for young people. This unique opportunity offers an on-site theatre experience where youngsters can learn - through acting and drama - self possession, discipline, increase confidence and presentation skills.
The workshops will include a wide range of theatre and acting aspects and comprise: acting [traditional & modern, also method & mime], voice techniques and projection, learning lines, characterisation, study and understanding of plays, movement, involvement in technical aspects including makeup, costume, lights, sound, set design - construction - decoration, as well as stage management, front of house, production and publicity.
It is planned to enrol students in the first session, starting in mid March, aged 8 - 11 [Group 1] and 12 - 18 [Group 2]. Workshops for 18+ and adults may follow later this year.
The workshops will be for ninety minutes [Group 1] and two hours [Group 2], and will be held on Saturday mornings at Lane Theatre. The first and second sessions will comprise six weekly workshops, and the final session - in the autumn - spanning eight weeks.
